DENFIELD STREET HOUSE- BEAVERTON

The Dave Porters resided at Canyon Road Apartments right after my birth in December ’49. But they had been anticipating the moment and by the summer of 1950 were settling in to their new house on Denfield Street in Cedar Hills. The housing was being built at a fast pace all across the country as returning vets like Dad took advantage of the GI Bill to become homeowners. In some ways the pictures that follow this page reflect as strongly the finding of home for the little family as they do the family itself.

Three pictures of the house on Denfield being built follow the baby David pictures in the binder. A close look at the bottom of the three pictures appears to show snow falling. The house is 12145 SW Denfield.
Here it is in May 2020. The two trees were planted by Mom and Dad.
